We use a "Dry Lay" Method with two types of Limestone Underlayment to prevent shifting of Pavers over time by forces of: Erosion, Freeze-Thaw and 'Critters of all kinds. We set Pavers on a machine-compacted base layer of gravel, 6-7" in depth, followed by a 1-2" screeded layer of finely crushed limestone gravel. Pavers are then secured with plastic or metal edging and a layer of polymeric sand is broomed between gaps to lock your patio in place.
A full base layer dry-lay costs appx. $15 per square foot, plus cost of selected pavers or brick, our underlayment comes with a 7-10yr guarantee*
*Paver repairs are limited to remedy any shifting/sinking caused by a failure in the underlayment. Polymeric sand has a lifespan of 3~5 years, after which it must be replaced. Damage to pavers, or color fading of pavers is not included.
